Competitions and Festivals

The 27th annual Phyllis Triolo Student Music Competition will be held on Saturday, May 21st, 2011 at Penn State Music Building I, Esber Recital Hall in two divisions -- Jr. Division (grades 7-9) starts at 7:45 AM and Sr. Division (grades 10-12) starts at 1:40 PM.

Phyllis Triolo, a CPMTA member for many years, concert pianist-lecturer, and teacher passed away on July 13, 1984. In her memory, the CPMTA has established a fund for a high school music competition. Open to talented vocal, piano, and instrumental students in grades 7-12, the competition has been held every year since 1985.

Dorothy Sutton Performance Festival (DSPF)

Begun in 1980 by Dorothy Sutton, the Dorothy Sutton Performance Festival is an opportunity for the talented music student to participate in an adjudicated Local Performance Festival.  Those with more exceptional performances are given the opportunity to perform at an unadjudicated State Showcase Recital.
