DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the hard work of our young musicians at our upcoming Valentine’s Day Student Recital! This event is a wonderful opportunity for students of all levels to perform in a supportive community setting and share their progress with family and friends. \nWe are honored to hold this recital at Oakwood Presbyterian Church\, featuring a beautiful piano that previously belonged to one of our teachers\, the late Pat Lloyd (1935–2024)\, which was purchased by a generous church member and donated to Oakwood. Pat served the State College musical community for over 45 years as a respected piano teacher and organist. As part of CPMTA\, she championed the Phyllis Triolo Competition. \nPotluck Reception: Following the performances\, we invite all families to stay for a community potluck reception! We kindly ask that attending families bring a “finger food” item to share—something easy to pick up and enjoy by hand\, such as cookies\, muffins\, or donuts. \nInformation for Teachers \n\n\nAny CPMTA teacher is welcome to enroll their students. This faculty showcase features a diverse program of solo and ensemble works\, offering a unique opportunity to see the artistry behind the instruction. \nWhy Your Attendance Matters: This is more than just a recital—it is a mission-driven fundraiser. All proceeds from this event directly support the Phyllis Triolo Music Competition\, our chapter’s largest annual event. \nThe Triolo Competition is essential to our community\, providing middle and high school students with professional adjudication and unrestricted cash prizes. These awards help students fund instrument repairs\, summer programs\, and college audition fees.
